Thousands Anticipated in 10th Annual Walk for Recovery

The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is hosting Recovery Walks!, their 10th Annual Walk for Recovery from Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Bushnell Park in Hartford.   The walk is part of the 20th annual observance of National Alcohol and Drug Recovery Month, a nationwide celebration of those in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction.  This year CCAR will also be part of Rally for Recovery sponsored by Faces and Voices of Recovery and A & E Network, where more than 50 communities across the United States will demonstrate that millions of Americans in long-term recovery are leading normal, productive lives.  We strive to mobilize people to support policies that encourage and improve access to recovery and remove barriers to long-term recovery.  CCAR’s Recovery Walks! includes live musical entertainment, children’s activities and stories of recovery beginning at 10:00 am.  Registration is Free!

For more information visit CCAR on the web at www.ccar.us or call their office at 860-244-2227.
